Technology

Although Alyria is a realm of mystical powers, some of its denizens value technology more than Magick. The Story of Alyria notes that in the early days, "Dwarves were concerned with the heart of the world, and in the natural expression of stone, and as such delved deep underground," while "Gnomes were enthusiastic about kinetics and machines, and lived primarily near waterfalls, volcanoes, and other natural sources of energy."

ARTIFICE

artifice - combine items into more powerful items

 The artificers of yore are more than legends, but they are typically so soft-
 spoken and generous that the mechanical and magical creations they've made
 always attract more attention than they themselves do. Equally feared and
 admired for their immense powers through history, in the recent past they
 have, through collective action, decided to make their kind and their art
 more accessible and more egalitarian.

 Although their creations reside at the intersection of art, engineering,
 history and philosophy, it can be easy for even novice Adventurers to learn
 to ply the artificers' trade. As this is multiple entire disciplines, many
 pieces can be crafted with no more than its constituent elements; many more
 pieces may require that the experience granted by a Mark be possessed, or
 the assistance of a more learned artificer, or perhaps simply a specialized
 tool within a room.

Rumored to exist on another plane entirely, the High-Elf Master Artificer's

Citadel is something few have seen but some still sport her work on their

adventures to this day.  

tinkergnome

tinkergnome - half the size, twice the ingenuity of a gnome.

Tinkergnomes are about half the size of your average gnome but have twice

the knack for tinkering.  Seen as somewhat of a mischievous race as they can

often be found where they shouldn't be, scavenging parts for their

latest creations.
