Reward Units enable players to purchase character services, in-game homes, ships, magical amulets, powerful consumables, seasonal goods, and much more!
Materia Magica happily accepts secure transactions through Stripe. You may use your credit card or checking account.
If you purchase Reward Units using Stripe with a credit card or instant transfer from your bank account, your payment will be processed as soon as possible, and the staff at Materia Magica will be notified to deliver your Reward Units, which may take up to 24 hours. If you use an electronic check, the Reward Units will be processed and added to your in-game account as soon as the electronic check clears the issuing bank and Stripe notifies our automated payment processing system, which typically takes 4 business days.
From within your in-game Reward Unit account, Reward Units can be transferred to another online player using the REWARDUNIT TRANSFER <player> <amount> syntax. REWARDUNIT displays the amount of Reward Units in your account. Reward Unit vouchers may also be purchased from the Van Pelts. Reward Units and Reward Unit vouchers can be gifted to other players, or traded in this manner for other items within the game. You may not trade Reward Units for anything outside the game (e.g., real world cash or real world services).
All purchases are non-refundable at this time, but please use the Support Form to contact our team if you experience an issue with a subscription payment or did not receive your RU from a purchase.
Items are not guaranteed to remain unchanged their entire lifespan and may be altered or exchanged for items of a similar value for purposes related to game balance or bug fixing.
Remember that even as a Reward Units purchaser you are expected to abide by the rules of conduct for all players. If you break enough rules and your character(s) are removed as a result, all of the Reward Units and reward items on the character(s) will be removed as well. We reserve the right to restrict or remove any player who violates the game rules, so please respect the game and others. Obviously no one would contribute if this occurred frequently, but all players - even those who contribute - are expected to obey the game rules.
Any transactions made using fraudulent funds - such as with a credit card, PayPal or Stripe account, or checkbook that isn't yours, or even reporting the transactions as fraudulent in order to save some money months later, can result in the termination of your account and the reporting of these financial activities to the appropriate authorities.

If you subscribed with PayPal prior to the new account system, please visit PayPal's preapproved payments page.
If you subscribed with Stripe prior to the new account system, please visit the Stripe Customer Portal. You will need to enter the email address which you used to create your subscription. You will then receive a one-time passcode from Stripe, in order to log in and update or cancel your subscription.
