One of the many great things about text adventures is that you don't need a high-powered computer, special graphics hardware, or a high-resolution monitor in order to enjoy them. The requirements are minimal to fully experience and appreciate Materia Magica:

• A stable connection to the Internet
• A reliable telnet/gaming telnet client of some kind (for a list of notable clients, see Client Links).
• An active imagination
• A desire to have positive involvement in a very real, alternate universe
• A commitment to abide by the rules of play and common decency to other players

If you are having problems getting connected, please visit the Technical Support section of the site first and see if it's a common problem with an easy fix. If you're using a service provider such as WebTV or AOL, you may want to check this section regardless, to avoid difficulties in the future.
