Help! I'm a fey and cant find something to eat/drink!!
Feys drink by feeding on mobs that are alive or by feeding on the blood left over from a battle. There are also blood fountains from which you may quench your thirst in a few locations, as well as bloodskins that can be purchased in some stores. See 'HELP FEED'.
Do my skills go up without practicing them?
Skills that you can only practice to 75% go up through normal use. Other skills such as fast healing can be practiced up to 100%.
How does resistance work?
If you are resistant to (for example) magic, you will gain 25 points of magic resistance in the form of "saving vs. spells". Saving throws are made when you are confronted with certain types of damage, magical and otherwise. Some items such as a ring of spell turning can increase your saving throws. To find out what your saves are you will need to cast detect magic on yourself and then type AFFECTS.
Who is this "Someone" that walks around all the time? What kind of name is that?
Someone is talking to me and I can't see them. How do I send them a tell?
Those are probably people using invisibility spells/equipment. Get 'detect invisible' equipment or potions/scrolls. You can also use the REPLY command to send a tell to the last person that contact you. If someone is bothering you and you want to ignore them, you can type IGNORE LAST which will ignore the person even if you can't see them.
Can you kill me??
If you really want to die just type "Pray for death"
What are the songs available for bards to use and where do I find them?
Type 'HELP SONGS' or 'HELP MUSIC'. There is a website available that may help you: http://www.aodojo.com/songs.shtml
I am having trouble finding useful maps to find my way around the game. The maps I buy are not as useful as I would like. Can you help me?
Start with the Reference: Atlas section of this website. For further information, please consider the maps available at the AODojo website. There are also several other useful websites that contain maps of other locations, listed on the Towne Hall: Links section of this site.
I keep hearing about triggers what are they, and where can i get some?
They are automatic responses made my players programs to react to certain key phrases on the game. Look in the Clients section of this web site to find information on gaming clients that allow the use of triggers.
I keep getting lost in this place called the wilderness, can I get a transfer?
If it is possible use the "recall" command and see where you end up, then attempt to get back to your original destination. If that doesn't work, seek another player or Guide for help.
I got killed in the wilderness and ended up in a strange place with lots of NPK rooms and mobs that kill me before I can leave. There is a pillar of fire. Where am I, and how do I leave?
You are in Hellbent Mountain, it happens often, just whisper to the statue "by the flames of Gath, deliver me from this inferno" and enter the portal, then head south and down to get out.
How do i destroy or recover items for quests?
To destroy an item type "sac - " in order to recover it just pick it up and keep it in your inventory until you have completed the quest.
Where am I?
If you are lost and pray for help from a Guide, please give them an idea as to where you were and where you were headed. They may not be able to determine your location,
especially while you are in the wilderness or on the ocean. It is strongly suggested that you
purchase and use a sextant to help you determine your coordinates.
OK, I have a sextant. What do the numbers mean?
Alyria and related areas such as the faerie plane are set up as a grid.
Similar to our own real life latitude and longitude lines, the numbers
represent your location on that grid. The first number represents your
latitude or vertical location - going west to east. The second number
represents your longitude or horizontal location - going north to south. All
the towns and major locations such as dungeon entrances have unique sets of
coordinates. With a list of those coordinates, you can determine your
location in relation to the known coordinates should you get lost on the
ocean or in the wilds. Making reference to your sextant as you explore is
also handy for noting new areas as they open so that you can return for
further exploration.
