SPELL SHIELD

Complexity Rating: 70%   (Very Difficult)
Classes Allowed: Paladin, Monk
Spell Point Requirements: This spell will take at least 95 sp and at most 225 sp to cast.


NAME
  spell shield - creates a magic-absorbing shield

DESCRIPTION
  This spell conjures forth a field of negative magic,
  which surrounds the caster and will absorb one offensive
  spell of 50% complexity or less. Spells from 51-75%
  complexity may be reduced in power by half.

  Spell shields cannot absorb magic spells greater than
  75% complexity - if the shield is struck with a spell
  of that magnitude, it will vanish immediately.

  The spell shield will last until it is struck by an
  offensive spell, or its duration expires. While the
  shield is in place, the caster's magic will be drained
  due to the effort required to keep the shield active.
