DESCRIPTION
Exotic weapons are considered unusual items that may not normally be
thought of as a weapon - such as using a vase to smash someone over
the head. They may also be special magical weapons that don't fall
into any of the other weapon classes.

Learning this skill can be useful against certain NPCs that are immune to other kinds of damage, such as bash, slash and pierce.
Also, armour against exotic damage is generally lower than for the other kinds of damage.
