DESCRIPTION
  The most common weapon, a staff is a long, wooden stick originally used
  for herding livestock, guiding boats, or as a way of carrying supplies
  in baskets. The average length of the staff is about six feet, with a
  diameter of three and a half inches.

  Used as a weapon, the staff can be used to strike an opponent's eyes,
  throat, and solar plexus of the groin area. It can also be used to block
  an attack as well as sweep the feet. For those who are well versed in
  its use, a broom, mop, or any number of household items can make for
  a convenient stand in.

  Because of their particular fondness for them, wizards often bind
  magical energy into their staves.
