DESCRIPTION
  These weapons were originally used for everyday tasks
  such as chopping wood, but at some point warriors
  realized that they would be excellent at cleaving flesh
  and metal as well. Axes depend on a powerful swing to be
  effective.

  The throwing axe is a smaller axe that is used in combat
  by some warriors. Throwing axes are similar to throwing
  daggers, except they have wider blades and generally do
  more immediate damage than daggers.

  Two handed axes are large, oversized axes designed to be
  gripped with both hands. Two-handed axes are double bladed,
  and can easily be used to dismember an opponent through
  slashing.

A barbarian's favourite weapon, an axe has no match in power except for the cavalier's lance. These decay rather quickly however, so always have a spare on hand.

despite there bein no good axe (from what i've seen) that is nodecay, the raw power of axes makes them worth training if ya can

The axe is the strongest all-out-brute-strength weapon in Alyria. At many class plateaus, the strongest weapon available will be an axe. The only down side of axes is their inaccuracy--but their strength balances this negative.
