Unbeliever's Guide to Terra Ophellium's Quest Items

After a long arduous expedition around the world of Alyria, you stop to take a rest before traveling once again. You look out into the horizon, and see a shadowy figure approaching. As he gets closer, you can determine he is a man of normal stature. He has a smirk in his eye as it looks like he has some interesting items to offer you. You stand and approach him, he turns to you.

This man is dressed in rather shabby blue robes that have been patched many times. He appears to be in his mid thirties, and has a long, scraggly brown beard shot with streaks of gray. Adorning the top of his head is a dented, plain silver crown that looks to be slightly tarnished in spots.

Held in one hand is a long metal rod with a rusty star on one end, which he frequently waves in animated gestures when he speaks, which causes tiny bluish sparks to glow in the air after the wand passes through it.

Vandemaar's Trunk

Item 'Vandemaar's Trunk' is type container, alignment 0, made of reinforced-wood,
and has keywords 'vandemaar trunk'.
This item weighs 1 stone and 10 pebbles, and is valued at 14000 gp.
This level 140 item has the extra attributes: blessed nodrop weight-reducer fireproof nonmetal nouncurse unbreakable nodecay magic-resistant no-dispel will-float locker
Vandemaar's Trunk is in excellent condition.
Capacity: 250 items. Maximum weight: 17 st, 0 pb. Flags: closeable
When you look inside, you see:
Nothing.

Commentary: This is probably the single most important item in the game. This item lets you hold 250 items that become weightless when you put them inside, so essentially you could hold 17 stones worth of equipment for 1.1 stones. This is a great deal for people with very low strength, or for those pack rats. Protects your equipment from CPK, also lets you access your Rune locker which becomes another 35 items and another 35 stones.

Vandemaar's Reagent Bag

This enchanted leather bag was said to be created by the fabled Sorcerer of old, Vandemaar. A leather drawstring, covered in beads and feathers, is used to close the bag.

Item 'Vandemaar's Reagent Bag' is type container, alignment 0, made of leather, has keywords 'Vandemaar bag reagent leather'.
This item weighs 0 stones and 11 pebbles, and is valued at 7,000 gp.
This level 45 item has the attributes: nodrop insulated wont-fuse nouncurse unbreakable magic-resistant no-dispel
Vandemaar's Reagent Bag is in excellent condition.
Capacity: 10 items. Maximum weight: 1 st, 0 pb. Flags: closeable closed
It is closed.
This item has a special enchantment.

Commentary: This item generates reagents at random intervals. I personally prefer the mahogany puzzle box over the reagent bag. Benefits to this bag however is its lower quest point cost, the ability for it to be restrung, and it has been a rumor that the bag produces more element reagents than the box does.

An Orb of Vandemaar

This looks to be one of the seven fabled Orbs of Vandemaar, which were druid artifacts, used in the druids' attempt to weaken the power of the evil sorcerer Riga. During the battle several of the orbs were rumored to have been destroyed, but apparently a few still remain! They are worth a fortune. Made out of the rarest of materials, crystal ore taken from the moon Trigael, the orb is very fragile and easily damaged.

Item 'an orb of Vandemaar' is type treasure, alignment 0, made of crystal, and has keywords 'orb Vandemaar'.
This item weighs 0 stones and 25 pebbles, and is valued at 2,300 gp.
This level 10 item has the attributes: identified fireproof unbreakable nodecay magic-resistant vanish-death
An orb of Vandemaar is in excellent condition.

Commentary: If you have the QP, I would recommend buying these. When given to Balthazar in Rune, he awards you with a range of 29-40 practices. These orbs run for about 2-3 mil on auction.

A manual of surprise

This is a heavy, leatherbound book containing approximately two hundred pages filled with fine script and illustrations. A silk bookmark has been sewn into the considerable spine. The pages contain various techniques and exercises that the average adventurer can use to increase their attributes.

Item 'a manual of surprise' is type manual, alignment 0, made of leather, has keywords 'manual surprise book'.
This item weighs 0 stones and 25 pebbles, and is valued at 2,100 gp.
This level 35 item has the attributes: no-sac unbreakable nodecay
A manual of surprise is in excellent condition.
This manual contains learning techniques that will alter random attribute up to 1 points.

Commentary: This is a pretty nifty item, with the nature of the quest master being so rare, the equivalent of one attribute is around 2-3 orbs (80 practices). Definitely an excellent deal if you manage to catch Terra.

Vandemaar's Compendium of Magical Artifacts

This is a heavy, leatherbound book containing approximately two hundred pages filled with fine script and illustrations. A silk bookmark has been sewn into the considerable spine. The pages contain various techniques and exercises that the average adventurer can use to increase their attributes.

Item 'Vandemaar's Compendium of Magical Artifacts' is type manual, alignment 0, made of leather, has keywords 'manual vandemaar compendium magical artifacts'.
This item weighs 0 stones and 40 pebbles, and is valued at 2,300 gp.
This level 45 item has the attributes: no-sac unbreakable nodecay
Vandemaar's Compendium of Magical Artifacts is in excellent condition.
This manual contains learning techniques that will alter knowledge of 'magical items' up to 10 points.
*Your level must be less than or equal to 190 to use this item.

Commentary: Honestly, I probably wouldn’t purchase this item because there are more priorities. Also, the equivalence ends up to only be 10-20 practices. This is a very miniscule amount, of which could be recovered with 4-5 quests. The skill itself is very useful, but the likelihood you will run into Terra and choose to purchase this, is slim to none.
