THE TOWER OF RIGA
NAME
tower of riga - information on this infamous tower on Verity Isle
DESCRIPTION
The Tower of Riga was the stronghold of the infamous archmage
Riga, who was rumored to have mastered the secrets of time and
aging through the use of a powerful magic gemstone. At the time
of his demise he was rumored to have been approximately 1,500
years old.
Riga ruled Alyria for five hundred years, the reign known as
the Age of Silence by historians.
The Tower sits on Verity Isle, which formerly was the western
peninsula of the continent of Sepharia. The land was cleaved
and raised into the air by the powerful magic of Riga. As it is
now, the island still floats off the western shore of Sepharia,
held aloft by remnants of the magic Riga used to rip it from the
ground.
The Tower is guarded to this day by winged Ariels, created by Riga
himself to serve and protect him. It is rumored that Riga's Gem
still lies at the top of the tower, but thus far efforts to
remove it have failed.
In fact, the Council of the Arcane, the grand conclave of the most
powerful wizards over the land, have taken to using the Tower of
Riga as a training tool for young Adventurers. For even though
Riga has passed, his magic still pervades the island and the Tower
to this day, giving life to many things which can test an
Adventurer's wits, skills, and sanity.
Adventurers would be good to beware the maze-like rooms of the
Tower. While black tourmalines can often be found in abundance,
(tourmalines being used by the Council of the Arcane and the
Council of Seven to determine a young Adventurer's success in
life), there are still creatures and monsters who have taken
up residence in the Tower and can pose a great danger to the
unprepared Adventurer.
The rooms of the Tower themselves can have a chilling effect as
well - confusing mirror-filled rooms which distort the mind and
senses, rooms that have floors that suck up anything that is
dropped upon them (take care not to drop items halfhazardly in
the Tower, it is wise to check if the floor will swallow them
first by dropping a token of no consequence), and many other
tricks and traps.
To get to the Tower of Riga, there are often Adventurers to
be found near the main squares of most townes. They will
transport young Adventurers to the Tower for a price.

Before heading out to riga, make sure you have some light sources. good ones, not torches or lamps, those take up a lot of weight and dont last long. war banners and gryphon feathers work well. war banners are better because they increase your armor.
you'll want a few rations and a waterskin or two (dont overload, there IS a fountain, but you have to restart at the bottom of the tower to visit it)
the biggest threat to a level sixty, would have to be the traps. there are traps even in the lower levels that do around 150 damage, so keep an eye on your health.
there are also mirror rooms scattered around, when you enter these you cannot choose which direction you exit from, and it may take you a few tries to get out in any direction at all.
keep all the tourmalines you have in bags, NOT in your inventory, or they will get fragged (destroyed) by traps.
speaking of bags, bring plenty of them. "bag embroidered with silver runes" are plentiful around the game, and hold a decent amount of items. their a great container late first class, as anything within is protected from fragging.
since round trip to riga is 35,000 gold, try to do it one trip. first class thats a decent amount of money, and not an amount of money you want to pay more than once
lastly, just because you have enough tourmalines to multiclass doesnt mean you should. personally i recommend you do at least 100 quests first class. quests give practices, quest points, experience, and gold. the quest points can buy very useful items, and practices are quite possibly the most useful thing in the game.
yup. it was long, it was boring, and this is the end. bye.
