NAME
scan - closely examine what lies beyond all exits from a location
SYNOPSIS
scan
scan [<direction name>] [<# of rooms>]
DESCRIPTION
Scan can be used by anyone, regardless of whether or not they have the
"scan" proficiency. However, if you do not have the proficiency, you can
not make use of scanning in a specific direction, and you cannot scan
more than one room beyond your current position.
The "scan" proficiency enables the user to detect creatures and where
they are in the immediate area being scanned. This proficiency can
also detect:
* closed or hidden doors
* ship debris
* ship cargo salvage (steamer trunks)
* portals (worldgates and other magical portals)
Specifying a number of rooms to scan (1-7) will allow you to limit your
scan, or increase it as much as you are able - the maximum number of
rooms that can be scan will be limited by your training in the "scan"
proficiency.
