MARKSMANSHIP
Weapon School Complexity Rating: 60% Difficult Classes Allowed: Archon
NAME
marksmanship - permits the use of projectile weapons such as slug-throwers
DESCRIPTION
Marksmanship is a broad banner under which many weapon types exist, the most
common of which are slug-throwers. Many weapons that require marksmanship
are among the most technical and complex to operate, requiring precision
dexterity and managing multiple resources.
To operate a slug-thrower, both ammunition and powder is required. There are
several varieties of gunpowder and ammunition, each contributing benefits to
the complexities of combat. The weapon used will confer its damage dealt to
its ammunition, unless that ammunition's damage type is unique, which most
are. The weapon's accuracy dictates how accurate its wielder is.
The gunpowder used can alter how fast its projectile flies, and how much
damage it does. The ammunition type can alter the type of damage dealt, and
has secondary affects based on its type, such as armor-piercing, explosive
and enchantments.
Common ammunition types include:
pebble - hits a target with a pebble
rock - hits a target with a rock
slug - hits a target with a jacketed, propelled slug
enchanted - deals triple damage to NPCs following adventurers
peppercorn - deals damage to every member of the opposing formation
wood core slug - deals double damage to werewolves and vampires
iron core slug - reverts shapeshifted adventurers to their native form
hollow point round - mutilates on contact
incendiary round - explodes on contact
