NAME
icebolt - summons a bolt of ice energy from the elemental plane of Ice
and uses it to smite a victim

SYNOPSIS
cast 'icebolt' <victim name>

DESCRIPTION
This spell actually opens a tiny temporospatial claudication into the
elemental plane of Ice and summons forth pure ice energy. The ice energy
is directed towards the target in a crackling ball.

Since the ice energy comes from the elemental plane of Ice itself, it
is more fierce and concentrated than what would be considered "normal"
ice, and as such can cause a significant amount of damage to the target.

This spell has actually been in the game for quite a while, but is not castable by players, except by reciting its scroll (which exists but is rare). Many high level mobs, particularly archon hunters cast this spell. This spell along with firebolt is the most powerful direct damage spell in the game and doesn't appear to take armor resistance into account. Being resistant to ice helps (but this resistance is harder to obtain than fire resistance), and this spell can also be blocked with a shield, or otherwise. (It does around 2000 damage)
