DROP
NAME
drop - drop an object or amount of coins
SYNOPSIS
drop <object name or 'all'>
drop <number> coins
DESCRIPTION
DROP drops an object that you are carrying, or gold coins, on the
ground. To drop everything, you can DROP ALL. If the item or items
you are trying to drop are cursed with evil magic, you may not be
able to let go of it.
Use 'drop #.<object name>' or 'drop all.<object name>' to reference
a specific item when duplicate items are present, or all objects
of the same name.
You can also reference items using quotes around the full short
description instead of just name keywords. For example, if the item
is called "a wizard's cloak", you can reference it by typing:
drop "a wizard's cloak".
Be careful when dropping items in places you haven't been, or
otherwise suspicious-looking rooms. Some places have magical spells
placed on them that will send anything dropped in them to the
Ethereal Void, where they have a good chance of being destroyed
by the wights and ethereal vapors there. A good way to test and
see if you can safely drop an item in the room is to drop a single
gold coin (DROP 1 COIN) and see if it survives.

Be weary when dropping items you wish to keep, even temporarily. Some rooms cause items dropped in them to disappear and other players may take advantage of the chance to relieve you of your valuable gear.
Items dropped into the ocean will sink to the bottom, but can be recovered through a treacherous journey to the Ethereal Void. Beware, the creatures there may destroy your item before you can get to it. Items with the 'will-float' attribute do not sink when dropped on water.
