COLORS
With color, it is easier to distinguish between room descriptions and
creatures, as well as any other text received through the game. It is
recommended that you experience Materia Magica in its full color glory,
but if you are having problems such as a slow or lagged connection,
it can help to turn it off as it reduces the number of characters sent
by the server to you.
In addition to normal colors set by the system, players may use the
following pipe codes in their text to change the colors of the result:
|B = High Intensity Blue
|R = High Intensity Red
|C = High Intensity Cyan
|M = High Intensity Magenta
|Y = High Intensity Yellow
|W = High Intensity White
|G = High Intensity Green
|b = Regular Intensity Blue
|r = Regular Intensity Red
|c = Regular Intensity Cyan
|m = Regular Intensity Magenta
|y = Regular Intensity Yellow
|w = Regular Intensity White
|g = Regular Intensity Green
|D = Regular Intensity Grey
|X = Resets colors back to their normal state
If the first set of colors appears exactly like the second set of colors,
you are probably using a Windows telnet client or do not have true ANSI
emulation. For more information on clients that support ANSI, see the
Materia Magica homepage at http://www.materiamagica.com.
Color use in public channels (such as dream, yell, and shout) is limited
to 3 color codes. Titles are limited to a maximum of 5 color codes, and
descriptions are limited to a maximum of 100 color codes (although this
should in no way encourage you to use them all). As with most everything,
color works best in moderation.
