ADOPTIONS
NAME
adoptions - adopt new players as your children, gaining mutual bonuses as
they progress
SYNOPSIS
shop buy adoption
DESCRIPTION
Adventurers may purchase adoption certificates from wedding clerics in Rune,
Sigil and Templeton. Adoptions require the participation of two parents,
both of whose signatures are required on the certificate. A third field on
the certificate specifies the name of the child being adoped: note that this
field is the name of a new player that will be created within the next 15
RL minutes. Once the certificate has both signatures and the name of the
player being created, it may be given to the cleric. If the child is created
within 15 RL minutes, they will enter Alyria as the adopted child of both
signatories to the adoption; if not, the adoption will be canceled and the
certificate refunded.
As the child levels, different incentives are provided;
* at level 60, the child receives 250,000 gold.
* at level 120, the child receives 500,000 gold.
* at level 180, the child receives 750,000 gold.
* at level 241, the child receives 1,500,000 gold.
Provided an initial outlay of the 1,250,000 gold cost of the adoption
certificate, the family unit starts profiting from the child's progress past
level 180. Furthermore, once the child reaches level 241, their bloodline
affects grow stronger, as does that of both of their adopted parents'. This
is the case whether or not any of the affected family members have completed
their bloodline quest yet. Note that adoptions automatically count as
an automatic referral for the first parent listed on the adoption
certificate.
***IMPORTANT***: Any given character may only adopt a maximum of three
children within their lifetimes.
