ACCURACY
NAME
accuracy - weapon characteristic and player statistic
DESCRIPTION
Every character, the weapon they wield, whether they are mounted, and
magic affects contribute to the accuracy of an attack. As expected, a
higher accuracy statistic means an improved chance to hit your target.
You also will be more effective with your aim at an opponent's body
part (see COMBAT AIM) as your accuracy increases.
Your current accuracy percentage can be seen when viewing your
EQUIPMENT information. The accuracy percentage shown is a result
of multiple factors:
Look at the identification of a weapon (such as by using IDENTIFY
or LORE) and you will see its accuracy figure.
Look at your AFFECTS. Spells you cast on yourself or those cast against
you may alter your accuracy. If you have the 'detect magic' affect,
you will be able to see your current accuracy modifier as a result
of these affects (for example, being blind will reduce your accuracy,
unless you have the 'blind fighting' proficiency).
Look at the identification of certain magical items. They may increase or
decrease accuracy. These accuracy modifiers will be shown in the AFFECTS
list if the item is equipped.
If your character has skill in riding and is mounted, it will improve
your accuracy. If you are mounted and you do not have the 'riding'
proficiency, this will negatively affect your accuracy.
