loan from the royal keep of Lowangen, or was until it was stolen.  And then
passed on through unknown means, until it came into your possession.  It is
stolen goods, and important, expensive goods at that, but it is even more
powerful than its price or the honor lost by not returning it would dictate.
Within the orb, you can see the outcomes of occurences in the recent past of
the distant future, knowledge of which will allow you to change the future,
retroactively.
