This thick crossbow bolt appears to be of orc craftsmanship.  The wood of
the shaft has been made from the deadliest of all trees, the mandrake.  It
is said that ingesting even the slightest bit of mandrake sap means
inevitable pain and eventually death.  Lucky for warring orc tribes, the
wood continues to bleed sap after being cut down, so the bolt has developed
a glazed coat of deadly venom, ready to part flesh and deliver its lethargic
slime to the target.
