This lantern is really a sealed jar containing several live fireflies. 
The two major problems with this type of light source is that the fireflies
are so small that the jar have to be sealed tight to prevent the fireflies
from escaping, unfortunately this leaves the fireflies without air to
breathe, and they will die quite fast.  If you are brave enough to rely on
this lantern as your only light source, you will soon find yourself lost in
the darkness.
