This large tome is almost too big to carry. It measure six hands by eight,
and doesnt seem to have been moved in eons. The pages are parchment, but
the edges are friable. Around the outside of the book are small heaps of
page fragments from where other, careless, people have flipped the pages
too fast. The subject matter of the book is gemstones, common and magical.
Not wanting to turn the page, you read the section at which the book lies
open. Diamonds! Diamonds, in their purest and most natural form, can be
the receptacles of the most powerful spells. Currently the best diamonds
are mined in secret somewhere east of Xaventry. Gnomish miners of Maradas
send these stones to be finished and converted into gem reagents which can
be purchased in Xaventry. On the opposite extreme, it is rumored that the
powerful mage, Lord Bloodbane, has enchanted diamonds with the Warp spell.
These stones are pure heresy, but it is known that certain Decara wizards
are offering huge rewards for samples of the alleged diamond warp stones.
