This bola is long and dangerous, its heavy lead balls smeared with
sticky, congealed blood.  Four long, leather thongs tie together to form a
thick, rough knot, at the opposite end from the cast-leaden balls.  The
balls are firm and strong, as they were smelted to be, in order to break the
neck or legs of an opponent.  However, the bola is a weapon typically used
