One of the many incongruencies within the Hotel, this sliver of ice does
not melt.  The Hotel may not exist within the most temperate climate, but
common sense still dictates that this should have melted long ago.  As with
many of the other items around the island, this blade is probably
magically-infused by witchcraft or one of the other demonic arts.  The blade
is sharp, sharp enough to kill someone with.  A leather strip has been
wrapped around the 'hilt', to prevent the wielder from freezing their own
hand to it.
