Long-suffering in its decades, perhaps centuries of its existence, this
ripped-up, stained bit of horse leather nevertheless appears to have
retained the rugged durability of its glory of days past.  How long, and the
means by which this abused fragment of old hide came to be in Deceit, is a
mystery, although the reason for its retention there by its power-hungry
squatters is obvious.  While poorly-kept, it is still usable, although it's
not quite certain how.  A length of newer leather has been knotted through
one end of the scrap and out the other, allowing it to be worn just about
anywhere desired, as long as looks aren't too important.
