The book is covered in mildew and water stains, encrusted with sea salt on the dark green leather and gold inlay of the cover and binding. The title of the book is unclear but you can just make out the words The Ships Log of The Silver Faun. Most of the entries were either too blurred or tedious to bother with until you read the entry for its last voyage. "26th May 961 At Sigil we took on fresh water and supplies and a strange passenger. He was cloaked and hooded in black, from head to foot, so that only his grey-green eyes were visible. His name is Vosindar, and is reputed to be an arch mage of immense wealth and power. What his business is, or even destination, he will not say. All we know is we are taking him and his luggage to Templeton. The deckhands are on edge and mutter of an ill omen that has pass over us. I have never seen them so on-edge before a voyage." The next several entries are too blotted and stained to make out except for a few lines. "Several of the crew have voiced their fears about the contents of Vosindars seven trunks, as they have heard strange noises from the cases. They are sure that some magical creature lies within. With the wealth that he is deemed to have there must be much wealth and treasure within, but no one will go near them. I have not seen Vosindar since he embarked as he has not left his cabin. I must admit I too feel a foreboding." Looking through the smudges you can just make out the last entry. "As we passed Pirates Cove the weather was brisk but clear, when un-natural storm blew in from nowhere, the such as I have never seen before. It has driven us miles north of the trade routes and we are now completely lost. The wave pounds us like battering rams and the wind shreds the sails as if it has talons. The men cower in the hold and cry that this will be their grave. I can hear the Fauns backbone breaking; she wont last to see the morrow. I am sure that this is the hand of Vosindar, what ever is in those trunks he wants hidden deep in the brine. May the spirits for the sea preserve us for we are already dead." You wonder if the trunks still lie on the sea bed and what was inside them that scare the crew. Did Vosindar scuttle the ship or did he perish with her crew, what did happen to the Silver Faun!
