A standard shield given to the guards, it has definitely seen better
days.  Slightly rusted from lack of care, and dented from repeated blows,
it's amazing that this shield hasn't fallen apart yet.  Made of iron with a
thick leather strap on the back it seems that it may last long enough and
would make a useful and sturdy accompaniment to any regular combatant.
